Ava Duffy is the NDP candidate for Hastings — Lennox and Addington — Tyendinaga

The NDP is delighted to announce Ava Duffy as the candidate for Hastings—Lennox and Addington—Tyendinaga in the upcoming federal election.

Keen to represent the hard-working people of her constituency – not Bay Street – Ava will fight
to strongly advocate for the real needs of her constituents and neighbours and listen to what
matters most to them.

At a time when our economy is under attack by Trump’s tariffs and Canadian sovereignty is
under threat, people need a government that actually represents the people of our country and
not just the top one per cent. Together we are strong, together we win.
Ava Duffy will:

1. Help Canadians keep their elbows up: Tariffs will cause job losses. Ava will fight for
   people who lose their jobs to have better EI benefits, faster and for longer, so that
   Canadians can keep their elbows up and stay afloat.

2. Get true Universal Health Care: Ava will help Canadians stay healthy and reduce cost
   to all Canadians. Ava will fight for a universal health care system that includes
   prescriptions, dental care and vision care.

3. Fight for affordable housing: Canadians need affordable housing. The free market has
   failed to produce it for years, leading to skyrocketing home and rent prices. We will
   directly invest in building affordable homes, invest in co-ops and low-income housing.
